Ghana ex-first lady heading forward on the road to Presidency

Ghana’s electoral commission has announced the list of seven presidential candidates to contest the 7 December polls. The results indicate that Ghana’s ex- first lady emerges out to be more successful than US ex-first lady Hillary Clinton in the contest of presidency.

Three of the eight disqualified candidates who resubmitted their forms have been included on the list. Papa Kwasi Ndoum, the presidential hopeful whose legal battle forced the electoral body to reconsider nominations is one of them.

Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, wife of former President Jerry Rawlings, has also been added to the list.

President John Dramani Mahama is seeking a second term, in what is expected to be keenly contested election.
