Tunisia’s cooperation with Tatarstan to give access to Russian markets

Tunisia’s co-operation with Tatarstan will focus on increasing trade and facilitating the access of Tunisian products to Russian markets, said President of Tatarstan (Republic of Russian Federation) Rustam Minnikhanov, who was on a two-day official visit to Tunisia from October 15 to 16.
Speaking after an extended meeting held at the Kasbah Government Palace, under the co-chairmanship of Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, the President of Tatarstan said the cooperation aims to strengthen the Tunisian tourist destination and step up cultural exchanges between the two countries, besides intensifying co-operation in the field of higher education.
The extended meeting, which saw the presence of the two delegations, was an opportunity to exchange views on ways to boost bilateral co-operation and to intensify the visits of senior officials, said a statement from the Prime Ministry.
The President of Tatarstan stressed the importance of the business forum that brought together business leaders from both countries.
During a meeting with the President of Tatarstan, the Prime Minister commended the level of co-operation between Tunisia and Russia in the economic, trade and investment fields and the common will to further expand it.
Chahed reiterated Tunisia’s willingness to develop economic partnership with the Republic of Tatarstan.
