African countries must take strict measures to control the spread of coronavirus as the number of cases have been increased by 24 per cent in the past week. This information has been reported by John Nkengasong, head of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) on Thursday. The pandemic is on its full speed as said by him in a virtual conference from Addis Ababa and suggested to increase the use of masks in the country.

On Twitter, he tweeted “The #COVID-19 pandemic has reached a critically new high level of cases in #Africa with over 500K cases. We must adopt an aggressive and bold approach: #maskonallfaces, ramp up Test, Trace, and Treat, strengthen community response. This will save lives and save the economy!”
