AU provides Big Data solution to tame Covid-19

The system is capable of tracking and modelling human congestion to predict the spread of the virus. It is not clear when the starting date will be now, but Commissioner Muchanga has stated that his department has entered into several collaborations with various pan-African stakeholders to ensure that the free trade bloc goes ahead as quickly as possible. 

Connection tracking may be used to track the mobility of social activity and to transfer people from one area to another. But companies involved in implementing such a system have to protect the data privacy of the individuals being monitored.
