Burkina Faso: Prime Minister THIEBA launches 14th bank of the country with 12 bn FCFA capital

The Head of Government, H.E. Paul Kaba THIEBA, officially launched the activities of Wendkuni Bank International (WBI), the 14th banking institution of Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on June 29th, 2018.

With its capital of 12 billion FCFA, WBI intends to play its full part in the economic and social development of the citizens of the country.

Notably, the idea of creating this bank was proposed by economic operator Apollinaire Compaore, who is also a shareholder of two insurance companies and owner of Telecel Faso, the third operator in the Burkina Faso market.

According to the WBI Director General, the institution intends to establish itself in the entire country. It will do its utmost to create jobs (50 direct jobs already created along with hundreds of indirect ones) and offer opportunities to people and economic actors.
