We are pleased to inform you that the “CII-EXIM Bank Regional Conclave on India and East Africa” is being organized in partnership with Ministry of Commerce & industry and Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and Government of Uganda from 20-21 November 2017 in Kampala, Uganda.

Ms. Rita Teaotia, Commerce Secretary, Government of India, has confirmed to lead the Indian delegation to the Conclave. President and Prime Minister of Uganda along with Ministers and delegations from East African countries are being invited to the Conclave.

About the Conclave: The Conclave will be a two day event with a strong focus on business deliberations, Business to Government (B2Gs) and Business to Business (B2Bs) engagements. As mentioned earlier, it will be an opportunity for the Indian private sector and key institutions like the Exim Bank of India to identify priority areas and key projects for Indian investment and partnership with a long-term commitment to the region. We are inviting projects from the East African countries for discussion at the Conclave.

The engagement between East African region and India isn’t an infant one. Both the regions have a direct interest to each other in terms of politics and economy. India has enjoyed historically close economic ties with the East African countries and much of it is through the investment-led trade. The East African region has a huge potential in terms of business and investment opportunities. The Conclave aims to bring out the best of this region to the world.
