Congo explosion kills a girl and injures 32 peacekeepers and two civilians

32 Indian peacekeepers and two civilians were wounded and a girl died on Tuesday in Goma in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after an explosion occurred. Eyewitnesses said that the explosion occurred shortly before 6:30 local time (4:30 GMT).  It has been observed that the explosive device of unclear origin.

The attack was deliberately targeted towards the peacekeepers because they were unarmed. The explosive was hidden in a can which was controlled by a distant remote. A guard at the Catholic cathedral called Santas Acenti Foruguta, escaped when the sound of the explosion happened.
