The Republic of Congo star, Ace Wayé has won the 2020 edition. It is of the Prix Découvertes RFI music awards. 10 finalists were chosen from Africa, it had been his talent for writing lyrics in French, English and Lingala that won the jury over. He walks away with 10,000 euros in prize and therefore the chance to travel on the road around the continent, also as placed on a show in Paris.
Fakoly (Côte d’Ivoire), Didier Awadi (Sénégal), Amadou et Mariam (Mali), Soul Bang’s (Guinée). The singer Céline Banza from the Democratic Republic of Congo won the previous 2019 edition. The winner gets 10,000 euros in the prize, also as help to fix an African tour, plus a concert in Paris. Many of the previous winners have gone on to become international stars, like Tiken JaFI and its partners also offer career mentoring to the competition winner.
