Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has significantly moved up in the World billionaires’ list. His fortune has increased to $17.8 billion as against last year’s $14.8bn to emerge as the only Nigerian in Bloomberg’s yearly top billionaires’ list.
A total of 120 billionaires made the prestigious list released by Bloomberg on Monday. Other Africans on the list are Johann Rupert and family, worth $10.1bn; Nicky Oppenheimer worth $7.80bn and Natie Kirsh with $7.15bn, all from South Africa. Nassef Sawiris from Egypt is worth $6.93bn.
Dangote is the richest man in Africa for the 8th year running.
