Emirates extends date for suspension of flights from Nigeria to March 10

Spread the news

The United Arab Emirates, the Dubai-based mega carrier Emirates Airlines, has extended to 10 March 2021 the suspension date for Nigerian airlift passengers from Abuja and Lagos airports.

In a statement signed by its management, the airline said it would review its protocols on March 10, 2021, and could begin outbound flights from Nigeria after that date.

The airline had previously announced that from February 28, 2021 it will resume outbound operations, but now “expressed regret that it would extend the suspension to March 10.”

The airline’s statement was also in tandem with the mail sent to its Nigerian passengers, informing them that the date of reopening of flights on 28 February would not be feasible, but suggesting that it would continue to operate flights from Dubai to Nigeria.

Also the passenger services from Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja) to Dubai are temporarily suspended until March 10 2021. Passengers who are to or connected through Nigeria within the last 14 days aren’t allowed entry into the UAE (whether terminating in or connecting through Dubai). Emirates flights from Dubai to Lagos and Abuja will still operate as per the traditional schedule.
