The Mauritius government has announced that there is an oil leak from a bulk carrier that ran aground in the southeast of the island. It may be a fear of environmental catastrophe. The ministry informed on Thursday that there is a contravention in the vessel MV Wakashio which has resulted in the leakage. 

The general public, the boat operators and fishers have been warned not to take the next journey  on the beach and in the lagoons of Blue Bay, Pointe d’Esny and Mahebourg.” According to sources the carrier was based in japanese oil textiles and sank in Mauritius on 25 July and its crew was rescued safely.
