Ethiopia, Egypt, Sudan finally agrees to GERD

Spread the news

Ethiopia’s prime minister gave a statement on Tuesday that Egypt, Sudan and his country itself has reached a major common understanding which has made a way for a final agreement on the dam project which in recent times has created many regional tensions and military confrontation.

For Egypt and Sudan, the dam is a threat to essential water supplies but on the other hand, Ethiopia considers it essential for its electrification and development. According to satellite pictures, the water level in the reservoir of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is at its highest in at least four years due to heavy rains.
