Ethiopian military seizes airport as fighting rages in Tigray

Airport near the town of Humera was seized by the Ethiopian military. This was done in the middle of a nearly week-old conflict in the northern Tigray region. According to sources, on Tuesday the airport, 67km (42 miles) south of Humera was Seized. This fighting continued with reports of Ethiopian government forces capturing territory.

Telephone and internet communications went out in Tigray. It has made it very difficult to verify the situation on the ground. The African Union on Tuesday called for an immediate ceasefire after all this. The foreign ministers expressed their concern that This is an internal conflict, they have nothing to do with it.
