Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn approved a new cabinet on Tuesday after he promised to address concerns of inadequate representation of other regions in government. The restructuring is supposedly a reaction to political protests which have initiated a declaration of state of emergency last month.
The Prime Minister has appointed 21 new ministers which include heading the ministries of foreign affairs and finance. Only 9 out of 30 previous ministers have retained their position.
The acceptance of the new approved list was updated on a government twitter account.
