‘Flutterwave’- African Firm On TIME’s 2021 Influential List!

Flutterwave, a fintech firm in Nigeria, has embarked its name in history by making place in TIME’s 2021 list of the 100 Most Influential Companies in the world. It came under the name a “Pioneer”. The list comprises big bites like Apple, Twitter and Stripe and among these the firm has made a history as it is the only African company to form it this year.

The list was divided into 5 categories; Leaders, Pioneers, Disruptors, Innovators and Titans. TIME said that the company was chosen on the basis for its efforts in recharging retailers after the pandemic slowed travel in Nigeria.

When pandemic lockdowns hit brick-and-mortar businesses in Africa, the digital-payment service was ready to rapidly found out digital storefronts for 20,000 customers, throwing them a lifeline.

It would be recalled that Flutterwave hit tech-unicorn status in March when it secured $170 million serial C funding from global investors, valuing the corporation at quite $1 billion. Other companies that came under the ‘Pioneers’ included Rihanna’s brand ‘SAVAGE X FENTY’, Beyond Meat,  Strava, Bumble, Hello Sunshine, Klutch Sports Group.
