Spread the news

The French Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya has warned the country of an imminent terror attack. In light of the potential threat, the French Embassy is requesting the people to exercise high vigilance for the coming days and avoid public places as much as possible.

The Embassy mentioned that the threat lurks in the region for the upcoming days and the terrorists are targeting public places, especially restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, and places of leisure that are frequented by foreign nationals.

The United Kingdom’s website of FCDO (Foreign Commonwealth and Development office) advised people and foreign nationals of Kenya to avoid non-essential travel, especially within 60kn of the Kenya-Somali border. Following the advice, the German and Dutch embassies have issued similar warnings and advisories.

The embassy also highlighted that there is likely to be a series of serious attacks in the areas frequented by the foreign nationals and regions of high threat are Lamu County (Excluding Lamu Island and Manda Island), Mandera County (Excluding Mandera West Sub County), within 15km of the Coast from the Tana River down to the Galana (Athi-Galana-Sabaki) rive and areas around Tana River County (up to 20km northwest of the A3).

The National Counter-Terrorism Center has requested Kenyans to garner every information possible that will help the people to foil the threat.
