A woman Saadat Aliyu launched an app to help the rape victims as rape cases are increasing in Nigeria. The name of the app is ‘helpio’. This is an android application which enables victims to report any case. They can even speak to someone who can provide help.
The android app can be downloaded from Playstore. Ms Saadat is also the founder of Shamrock Innovation, Women and Youth-Centric Tech Innovation Hub told Channels TV that the app is available on the store.
“You can go to the Play store, search for it and install it. After installation, you can sign up using email and password either in Hausa or English language,”
“So far the Initiative for Support of Victims of Sexual abuse, Orphans and Less privileged (ISSOL) and Equity Destitute, Child Right and Welfare initiative (EDCRAWI) have signed up in the platform.”
