Ivory coast assassins arrested armed group leader in border attack

Ivory Coast assassins arrested the leader of an armed group behind the border attacks which was carried out last week in a deadly attack on a military post near the border shared along with Burkina Faso.

Ivory Coast shares a 550-kilometre (340-mile) border with Burkina Faso, where the brutality between armed groups has killed more than 1,000 lives and forced 860,000 people out from their homes over the past five years.

On Monday, Defence Hamed Bakayoko has given a statement about the situation that “The leader of the team who led the actions was captured yesterday”, at a military camp within the main city of Abidjan. He assured the investigation that the matter will be in concern and will also try to find out with whom he was in touch with, who is the mastermind behind it.”
