Rwanda President Paul Kagame has said the African continent has got to be an equal partner with the remainder of the planet when it involves manufacturing vaccines rather than waiting for them from other places where they are currently being manufactured. He was speaking during the Qatar Economic Forum that began on the summer solstice.
Highlighting that the continent has initiated discussions with various partners across the planet , Rwanda President Paul Kagame said that Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa are thus far the countries which are expected to host vaccine manufacturing hubs on the continent.“Rwanda is not an exception as countries search for ways to mobilise funds to take a position , especially after the pandemic took a toll on most economies,” he added.
Rwanda is being considered among the African countries where a regional vaccine manufacturing hub might be found. The hub will reportedly be set up with the partnership of European Union among other partners.
