Kenya to get military equipment of $418 million from The United States, to fight against Al Shabaab

The U.S Department of State has approved the contract of $418 million worth military equipment to be delivered to Kenya, to fight against Al Shabaab. Kenyan security forces are involved in the fight against Somali Islamist group al Shabaab, which has extended its target across the border into Kenya.

The sale of the military equipment is pending for the final approval by the U.S. Congress. The arms deal costs $1.8 billion dollars in total, covering the UK, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Kenya.
