On Saturday, Libya’s internationally-recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) moved its army closer to Sirte which is a gateway to Libya’s main oil terminals. GNA plans to captivate the eastern-based self-styled Libyan National Army (LNA). GNA army forces said a column of 200 vehicles had departed from Misrata towards the town of Tawergha.
GNA has already captured most of the territory in northwest Libya which in turn ended the military commander Khalifa Haftar’s 14-month campaign to take the capital, Tripoli.
