Ministries of Youth, Sports and Information prepares for the Nasser Leadership Fellowship Program

The Ministry of Youth and Sports’ delegation from the African Youth Bureau within the Ministry met with the working group of the Ministry of Information to discuss means of joint cooperation regarding the preparations for the establishment of the Nasser Leadership Fellowship Program- 2nd Cohort, which is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the Nasser Leadership Fellowship-1st Cohort, implemented under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr Mustafa Madbouly, noting that 120 African leaders from various African countries were recipients of the Fellowship whose aim is to popularize the Egyptian experience in national institutions-building, as well as to build a bridge of communication between the people of Africa.

The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Information regarding the establishment of the Fellowship Program -2nd Cohort, scheduled for 2021. The discussion revolved around the means for developing the Fellowship Program to include developments of the modern digital revolution, the important role played by the media in the rapprochement between peoples, as well as the transfer of various aspects of the Egyptian experience to all participants to exchange experiences between African countries. 

From the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the meeting was attended by the Head of the Central Administration for Minister Affairs, Dr Mamdouh Abdel Aziz, the Director of Public and Foreign Relations, Mr Reda Saleh, the General Coordinator of the African Youth Bureau, Mr Hassan Ghazali, and from the Information, attended the Assistant Minister of Information for Technical Affairs, Brigadier Hossam El Din Mohsen, as well as the Crises Operations, working group.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Youth and Sports established the program of the Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership -1st Cohort in June 2019 under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly, as part of the activities held under the Egyptian Presidency of the African Union 2019, as recommended by President El-Sisi at the World Youth Forum. The Nasser Fellowship is the first African fellowship that managed to transfer Egypt’s development experience to young executive leaders on the continent, as well as being one of the activation mechanisms of the African Youth Charter, Africa’s Agenda 2030 and the inter-south Partnership.
