Africa Oil & Power will host the highly anticipated Presidential Award Ceremony on 24 March 2021 in Maputo, with viewers able to watch the live event online for free; the ceremony is dedicated to honoring the achievements of H.E. President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, whose exceptional leadership and innovative thinking has been transformative for Mozambique’s energy sector and economy; the ceremony will comprise the presentation of AOP’s coveted Person of the Year award to the President in person, with speeches from the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy and the Managing Director of AOP.
Africa Oil & Power (AOP) is set to host the Mozambique Gas & Power 2021 Presidential Award Ceremony on Wednesday, March 24. The inaugural event will take place live at 12:30 pm (Central Africa Time) on AOP’s virtual platform and will comprise the presentation of AOP’s Person of the Year award to H.E. President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi for his influential and transformative leadership.
The event takes place in Maputo in front of a group of invited officials, ambassadors, and energy company chief executives, and it will be live streamed to a global audience. H.E. Max Tonela, Mozambique’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, is the first key speaker at the event, followed by Renée Montez-Avinir, Managing Director of Africa Oil & Power. Africa Oil & Power will present the Person of the Year award to H.E. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique, who will then make an address to the local and global audience.
Despite recent global and market challenges, Mozambique has remained resilient, driving energy sector developments and growth which can all be attributed to the President’s leadership. The event aims to showcase these successes, celebrate the President’s vision for the natural gas sector, and highlight the critical capacity building work being undertaken by the government of Mozambique and its partners.
