Nigerian Music Star Wizkid Outshines at MTV Europe Music Awards 2016, wins award for the Best African Act

The 26 year old music star, Wizkid wins best African act at MTV Europe Music Awards 2016. The award ceremony took place in Ahoy Rotterdam, Netherlands, on last Sunday.

The singer moved ahead with his performance despite of the big African competitors including Black Coffee and Cassper Nyovest from South Africa, Olamide and Ali Kiba of Tanzania.

The rising music star of Nigeria also won the Best African Act at the MOBO Awards.

The 2016 MTV EMAs will air live on MTV and MTV Base on Sunday November 6th, 2016 at 22:00 CAT.

 Music icons Beyoncé and Justin Bieber lead whole group of participants with five nominations each. Adele followed with four nominations.

 Rihanna and Drake earned three nominations each, including a Best Song nomination for their hit collaboration “Work”. Adele’s record-shattering hit “Hello,” Justin Bieber’s electronic pop track “Sorry,” Lukas Graham’s soul-pop ballad “7 Years” and the Seeb remix of Mike Posner’s dance smash “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” also earned nominations for Best Song.
