Poachers arrested for killing a Gorilla in Uganda

The silverback, known as Rafiki, a beloved Gorilla has been hunted by 4 poachers. The wildlife authorities in Uganda have arrested those poachers. He was a 25 years old male silverback gorilla, the leader of a group and hugely popular with tourists in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Rafiki was missing from June 1 and his body was found the next day. He was speared by the hunters after he went missing on June 1.  The authorities gave a statement that one of the poachers named Byamukama Felix claimed that he killed the gorilla only in self-defence as the gorilla attacked him first. After the post-mortem report revealed, the gorilla has been badly injured in the left upper part of the abdomen to the internal organs because of the sharp spear. The 4 hunters are now held in prison and waiting for the trial.
