Scientific data confirms Dettol and Lysol brands effective against COVID-19

Reckitt Benckiser, the owner of Dettol and other sanitary brands was reluctant on the usage of these products by injection, ingestion or any other means against coronavirus after Trump’s statement. These products should only be used as they are directed on their manuals.

A new study published in the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC) has confirmed that Dettol and Lysol are effective in breaking the chain of infection of COVID-19 on 27 May. They say that most of the active ingredients contained in the Dettol and Lysol brands are effective at inactivating SARS-CoV-2 in, the virus which causes COVID-19 in within 5 minutes. The active ingredients tested included PCMX, Ethanol, Salicylic acid and quaternary ammonium compounds.
