Situational Update Ethiopia: Notification on COVID-19

Total laboratory testing in 24 hours is 1080, all of which (2) have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 and 126 have already been completed. The number of tests confirmed is 2. Such studies have been performed by the Institute of Ethiopia’s Public Health, the Armauer Hansen Research Institut, the Ethiopian Institute of Biotechnology, the International Clinical Laboratory, Amhara Institute of Animal Health, the Ethiopian Institute of Public Health and the Haramaya University Laboratory, and by the Jimma Medical Centre.

In case someone had contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients, call 8335 or 952 immediately, and report to the regional free telephone lines or nearby health centres, the Health Ministry and the Ethiopian Public Health Institute would like to notify the Public.

Moreover, all precautions including avoidance of mass meetings, hand washing with water and soap and maintaining physical distance are strictly advised for public opinion.
