Supermodel Halima Aden quits fashion industry!

Somali American model Halima Aden has declared that she is going to leave runway fashion shows. She is 23 years old. She has made this decision because the industry has forced her to stay away from her religious beliefs. In the Instagram story posts, she spoke about how the job made her more detached from her identity.

She said her only mistake was to wear a hijab while representing mega fashion labels. She is a successful Black Muslim woman in the industry, She was born in a refugee camp in Kenya and moved to the US at seven. In a separate post, Aden with her mother, she posted “I’m taking a stand for myself but I’m also taking a stand for all the people who lost their soul to fashion.” “We will never need your representation,” she added.
