Tanzania: Internet Slowdown Comes At a High Cost

In Tanzania’s internet and social media have been disturbed for more than a week now. This has come at great cost to the economy and free speech. This all was started just before Tanzania’s presidential elections. But ever since the internet and social media services were restricted in Tanzania’s general elections people are unable to work like before.

A citizen named  Makungu who runs his business in  Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s biggest city is been miserable due to this internet condition. he said he reaches out to 10 clients a day, earning his company between $100-200 (€85-170) and himself a nice commission but now barely manages to make two sales a day.
