Vaccines, economic recovery dominate AfDB annual meetings

Spread the news

The Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank for the year 2021 began on Wednesday. The meetings which can last until Friday are being held virtually thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

The agenda of the meetings is to provide a platform for the Bank’s governors to share their experience in the pandemic. According to a press release by the bank, they will also imply the policy measures they’re employing to rebuild economies and livelihoods,

There are some issues regarding the vaccine shortages in Africa as only 45 million vaccines are given in Africa, despite the continent making up 17 percent (1.3 billion) of the world’s population.
