Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia’s first President has been admitted in a hospital aged 97. His office announced on Monday and urged the citizens to pray for his recovery. The country is battling against the coronavirus and the surge in cases.
According to sources, the medical team is doing everything to make him recover as soon as possible. Till now, there is no clear reason for his illness but Zambia is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases and the country’s founding president was admitted to Maina Soko Medical Center, a treatment center for the disease in the capital, Lusaka. A population of about 18 million people, has a cumulative total of nearly 108,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,348 deaths.
