Zimbabwe: U.S. Embassy Praises Zimbabwe Film Production, Shaina

The success of the new Zimbabwean movie “Shaina”vhas made Zimbabwean production on the rise. USAID has collaborated with High Profile Zimbabwean actors to deliver a unique coming-of-age story. The US embassy in Harare praised the film production of Zimbabwe. This new movie has targeted people with powerful health messages. To empower adolescent girls and young women in Sub-Saharan Africa, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) funded the production of the feature-length film, Shaina.

The film premiered on 21 August on ZBC-TV at 10 PM. In the movie the best actors included Jesesi Mungoshi, Leroy Gopal, Edmore Sandifolo, Marian Kunonga, and Charmaine Mujeri, alongside a host of other young Zimbabwean actors.
