Ethiopia’s cabinet gets remodeled with 21 new ministers

Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn approved a new cabinet on Tuesday after he promised to address concerns of inadequate representation of other regions in government. The restructuring is supposedly a reaction to political protests which have initiated a declaration of state of emergency last month.

The acceptance of the new approved list was updated on a government twitter account.

Workneh Gebeyehu, formerly the transport minister now heads the ministry of foreign affairs. Dr Negeri Lencho, journalism professor at the University of Addis Ababa is now the Minister of Government Communication Affairs Office

Foreign Minister, Tedros Adhanom will now be dedicating his duties for the post of Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO).
