Julius Malema, a South African challenges the Apartheid-Era Law

Julius Malema, the South African opposition figure is challenging an apartheid-era law used to prosecute him over calls to occupy white-owned land.

He is accused of encouraging his supporters to occupy white-owned land in a speech he had given in June, in opposition to the 1956 Riotous Assemblies Act. It has been agreed by a judge  to postpone his trial while he challenges the act in the Constitutional Court.
