Gambia’s newly elected President Adama Barrow has stated that he will declare himself the President on January 18, despite the rejection of the election result by the previous President Yahya Jammeh. Mr Barrow further said that his team was preparing for his inaugural ceremoney. On December 1, the election commission had declared Mr Barrow the winner. Mr Jammeh, the President who lost after a long rule has initiated court action and has challenged his defeat.
