Mining Sector of Africa: Miners to Resume Work

From next week on mineworkers living in neighbouring South African countries will start working again. The first load was registered for this process of 9500 mining workers from Zimbabwe and Mozambique. It is screened at home, then quarantined in 14 days in facilities next to the South African mines, until work begins.

Africa is a centre of activity for mining and exploration firms. Within this sector, the list of companies operating in the continent is vast and increasingly growing. Many mining companies operating from Cape to Cairo and Ghana to Sudan include the world’s leading multinational firms, including African Copper Plc, Oando Energy Resources, Tjate Platinum Corporation, Kumba Iron Ore, Aquarius Platinum and Cardinal Mining Services. These mining companies are located throughout Africa. All the mines in Africa are mined from coal to iron ore, gold, diamonds, cobalt, copper, oil, and platinum.
