Randy Juan Muller, a 23-year-old footballer from Ghana had to spend 72 days at Mumbai airport due to the cancellation of all International flights in India as issued by the Government of India. He came to India to play for a sports club in Kerala. After getting stuck for two and a half months at the airport, he was taken to a hotel in Bandra. According to reports, he was stuck since 21st march and was not able to get back home. Muller came to India to play for ORPC Sports Club in Kerala in November 2019.
He shared his grieve “I came to India on a six-month visa and would get Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 per match. I hardly played any matches and had already spent around Rs 1.5 lakh on visa and tickets. I planned to return and even bought a ticket for March 30 from Mumbai to Ghana via Kenya. But the government cancelled all international flights and I got stuck here.”
