COVID19 Update: Africa top 225,000 cases!

As Africa is dealing with a quick-spread coronavirus, a Saturday report by the Africa Disease Control and Prevention Centers suggests the number of cases increased to 224,105. The virus took 100 days, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), to infect 100,000 in Africa from the first case identified at the centre of February to just half as rapidly as 23 to 200,000.

The report reveals that in 54 African countries 6,040 patients have died. According to the study, 102,846 people recovered from COVID-19 across the continent. The region with the largest number of cases on Saturday surpassed North Africa with 65,300 and the region with 63,600 in North Africa. West Africa has reported 48,500 cases, East Africa 25,100 cases, and CA 22,600 cases.

In terms of mortality, 2 500 deaths occurred in North Africa, 1400 in South Africa, 914 in West Africa, 763 in East Africa and 466 in Central Africa. In Southern Africa, at least 36,700 patients recovered, in North Africa 27,400, in western Africa 21,900, in east Africa 8,800 and in centre Africa 8,100. The number of cases in South Africa is currently 61,900 and in Egypt 41,300.
