Zimbabwe’s former Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has now been appointed as the health minister of the country. He was appointed after a month when his predecessor was fired over some corrupted allegations which were related to Covid19 testing kits. Former health minister Obadiah Moyo was accused of illegally distributing a $20m contract for coronavirus testing. He was arrested in June and got released on bail.
The President said on Tuesday that they have to stabilise the country and have to deal with the challenges of a global pandemic. The main opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) criticised Chiwenga and said he is not the right man for the job.
