Clicks stores to remove TRESemme products after backlash over ad!

TRESemme products will be removed from the shelves of click stores in South Africa after TRESemme released an advertisement which is based on racism. The ad was released on the retailer’s website on Tuesday. In the ad, TRESemme company compared two photos of Black women’s hair with two photos of white women’s hair, labelling the Black women’s hair “dry and damaged” and “frizzy and dry”, while the white women’s hair was “fine and silky” and “normal”.

The retailer and the TRESemme (S. Africa) apologised for the ad. Clicks said that all the employees who approved the ad to be published have been suspended and also the senior executive has resigned. This ad has created chaos on social media platforms and demanding to shut down stores for at least a week.
