Ghana Election 2020: EC To Clear Backlog From Thursday’s Voter Registration Exercise Today

The exercise was met with a huge turnout at some centres in the country with some political parties calling for an extension to cater for the huge numbers. According to the Electoral Commission, special coupons were issued out to applicants who could not register by the close of the exercise to be able to do so today.

This arrangement is however only for eligible applicants who went out to register yesterday but could not do so due to time constraints. 

Ghana Election 2020: Thousand’s Of People Meet Akufo-Addo In Eastern Regional Capital As His Three Day Tour Commenced Today.

 President Akufo-Addo has commenced a three-day working visit in the Eastern Region of Ghana and he had a hilarious welcome in Koforidua the regional capital. As part of his 3-day working visit in the Region, the president visited Nkawkaw, Anyinam, Abomoso, Kwabeng, Osiem, and New Juaben.

Inspection of ongoing construction works on the Nkawkaw to New Birem Road and the sod cutting of the construction of a Trauma Hospital at Anyinam was also done by President Akufo-Addo. President Akufo-Addo also cut the sod for the construction of the Kwabeng District Hospital and inspected ongoing work on the construction of the Osiem-Begoro Road.

President Akufo-Addo Has Nothing To Show After Excessive Borrowing – John Mahama

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, John Dramani Mahama says President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo is just wasting money and he has absolutely nothing to show for the excessive borrowing.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Sampa in the Jaman North constituency as part of his tour of the Bono Region, the NDC presidential candidate challenged President Akufo-Addo to list the developmental project he has used the loans for.

“When I was in government, we borrowed GHS54 billion and Ghanaians could visibly see what we used the money for in the area of roads, water, electricity, airport, harbour, schools among others. The then opposition New Patriotic Party accused the NDC government of borrowing too much. They promised to develop Ghana without taking loans but after staying in office for almost four years, do you know how much they have borrowed? The NPP government has borrowed 140 billion. What is sad is that we do not know what they have used the money for,” he said.

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is wrapping up her Central Regional tour.

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has told the people of Winneba in the Central Region that her party is coming to serve the interests of the people.

According to the running mate, the most important thing is to develop Ghana as a Republic and the individuals in it as well.

“Interaction with the traders and commercial drivers at the Winneba junction. We are here to serve your interests and develop Ghana as one Republic”.
