COVID, tech advances could disrupt 85 million jobs by 2025!

The World Economic Forum (WEF) marked on Tuesday that with the coronavirus pandemic the inequalities across labour markets have been weakened and now the public and private sectors must act to ensure people remain engaged in a changing jobs market. In the coming 5 years, automation and a new division of labour between humans and machines will put 85 million jobs in jeopardy around the world as claimed by the WEF’s Future of Jobs Report 2020.

Saadia Zahidi, WEF’s managing director, said in a news release that COVID-19 has accelerated the arrival of the future of work and a double disruption scenario that presents another hurdle for workers in this difficult time.

The window of opportunity for proactive management of this change is closing fast.
