Great Lakes Region countries to implement security pact

Countries from the Great Lakes region of Africa have taken a move to empower peace. On Friday they adopted a security pact to spread peace among member states. The accord was adopted at a virtual summit. This was led by Angolan president João Lourenço.

The International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) member states include the Democratic Republic of Congo. Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo. The bloc’s other members are Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan.
