Antibody Test Study Reveals Much Higher Covid-19 Cases in Kenya

The Covid-19 pandemic hit Kenya in March. It marked around 20,636 cases and 341 deaths. These were reported at July’s end. Figures significantly less than those in Europe. However, recent testing has shown that more Kenyans might be infected in the beginning.. Isabella Ochola-Oyier, the top of the Biosciences department at Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) Wellcome Trust, explains the essence of the tests utilized in the study.

The PCR test tells you who has a lively virus infection at the time will have the virus in their system. The antibody test tells you this person may be affected within the recent past, could also be infected or may be exposed to the infection meaning they are in touch with somebody who was positive for SARS-CoV2.
