The Zimdancehall producers Dhama, DJ Fantan, and DJ Levels are popularly known as the Trio have been jailed for six effective months. They are accused of violating the Covid-19 regulations. The trio organized a dancehall show. It happened in Harare which happened on New Year’s Eve. It was attended by up to 1,000 people at a time. This is the high time when coronavirus infections and deaths were surging.
Vongai Guwuriro, Harare provincial magistrate, had jailed the trio for 12 months. It was before setting aside six months of the sentence. The six months were set aside for three years. This happened on the condition that they will not commit a similar offence within that period.
