Somalia: Govt. to establish oxygen plant in country, schools closed for 2 weeks due to Covid19!

The Horn of the African nation was closed for 2 weeks on Somalia Monday with the rise of COVID-19 infections. The government also suggested building a medical oxygen plant with funding from Turkish after a cabinet meeting in the capital Mogadishu.

“The government will continue to provide 1,000 units of oxygen provided by Hormuu and 100 by the World Health Organization’, the official statement.   On Twitter, Abdullahi Osman, CEO of the Foundation, said that the medical situation is serious.

Oxygen was running out in the Mogadishu hospitals when COVID-19 hit its height, said Ilyas Ali Hassan, an opposition legislative legislator.

In a tweet, he said that President Farmaajo Abdullahi, whose term ended on 8 February, was using military means to suppress peaceful protests rather than buy oxygen for the sake of life.

In the East African region, the total number of cases was 6 246 including 208 deaths and 3 778 recoveries, with 229 new infections and six associated deaths. Not yet have vaccinations started.
