An unaudited financial report sighted from the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange indicates that the Exchange has realized a slight drop in revenue in the past year compared to its 2023 earnings.
The DSE reported an amount of TZS 11.94 billion in 2024 against an amount of TZS 12.23 billion in the previous year. While listing fees and investment income remain the biggest contributors to the DSE’s revenue, they have taken a nosedive over the past year.
An increase in operating costs in 2024 to TZS 7.38 billion from TZS 6.39 billion, and a rise in staff costs from TZS 4.23 billion to TZS 4.73 billion, compounded the DSE’s loss. Hence, the exchange ended the year with a profit after tax of TZS 4.50 billion, below TZS 5.69 billion in 2023.
