The World Bank’s latest data from April 2025 provides insight into Senegal’s trade activity as a share of forecast GDP, historical trends, projections, and actual values.
As reported by the World Bank’s development indicators, trade (% of GDP) in Senegal was recorded at 71% in 2023, gathered from officially recognized sources.
However, the decrease in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.9%) and information and communication, goods and services (-8.1%) has marked a first drop for four periods.
Purchaser prices in Senegal dropped 0.2% year-over-year in March 2025, reversing a 0.6% rise in the prior month. In contrast, this fall was tempered by price gains in other areas, notably:
- Restaurant and accommodation services: +1.6%
- Furniture, household equipment, and routine maintenance: +1.7%
- Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels: +0.9%
- Transport: +1.0%”
