South Sudanese Ministry of Health (MoH) and World Health Organization (WHO) have signed the health systems strengthening output agreement component of the Health Sector Transformation Project (HSTP) on the 16th of April, a WHO news article stated.
This leads to a new phase of stronger healthcare across the country after a long period of serious health challenges complicated by fighting and harsh climate change.
With high maternal mortality rate about 1223 deaths per 100,000 live births- the highest in the world, the HSTP will come to replaces multiple donor funded programs, as it will be funded with about $12.7 million contributed by Multi-donor Trust Fund like World Bank, Canada, European Union (EU) and more
