Uganda’s coffee exports peaked by 27.90% in February compared to last year’s February, as high prices in the world coffee market forced traders to sell larger quantities from their inventories, the agriculture ministry reported.
As Africa’s second-largest exporter of coffee, Uganda shipped 555,756 60-kilogram bags of coffee, representing a 27.90% gain over last year. The country’s February earnings amounted to $167.77 million, and $1.7 billion from exports in the past 12 months to February, the ministry stated.
